What is a Habitation Windows (Double-Glazed Acrylic)?
Lighter and better insulated than glass — but they need a bit more care.

Most motorhome windows use double-glazed acrylic rather than glass, saving weight and improving insulation, usually with a built-in flyscreen and blackout blind in one frame.
How it works
Two acrylic panes with a sealed air gap between them provide insulation similar to house double glazing, set into a plastic frame bonded to the body with sealant.
Signs of trouble
- ⚠Misting or condensation trapped between the panes — the seal has failed, and the whole unit usually needs replacing
- ⚠Yellowing or scratches on the acrylic — avoid harsh or ammonia-based cleaners, which cause this
- ⚠Blind or flyscreen mechanism jammed — usually just needs cleaning of the track
