What is an Awning?
Rolls out from the side of the van to give you shade, shelter, and a bit more living space.

In plain English
A roll-out canvas or fabric awning, usually wound around a roof-mounted tube, extends outward on arms to create a covered outdoor area — brilliant in the rain and in the sun alike.
How it works
A wind-up mechanism (manual crank or electric motor) unrolls the fabric along telescopic arms, which can be pitched at an angle and pegged down for stability.
Signs of trouble
- ⚠Fabric that won't roll evenly, or bunches on one side — arms may be out of alignment
- ⚠Mould or mildew smell — needs cleaning and drying fully before storing away
- ⚠Torn fabric or a bent arm after wind damage — don't leave an awning out in strong or gusty wind

£300 – £1,200 fitted for a replacement awning, depending on size and whether it's manual or electric.
