What are Tow Bar & Towing Electrics?
For a bike rack, small trailer, or towing a car behind a larger motorhome.

In plain English
A tow bar bolts to the chassis and typically carries a 13-pin electrical socket, letting you tow a trailer, bike rack or, on larger motorhomes, a small car — with the towed vehicle's lights properly wired to your own.
How it works
The socket relays indicator, brake and tail light signals from the van's own wiring loom to whatever's being towed, usually via a dedicated towing electronics module.
Signs of trouble
- ⚠Trailer or rack lights not working — check the socket pins for corrosion first
- ⚠Clicking or knocking noise while towing — get the tow bar mounting checked
- ⚠Warning light for a trailer fault on the dash (where fitted)

£300 – £700 fitted for a tow bar and electrics.
