What are Levelling Ramps / Chocks?
Gets the van sitting level on a sloped pitch — important for the fridge as much as your sleep.

In plain English
Simple plastic or wooden ramps placed under one or two wheels correct for a sloped pitch, since an absorption fridge needs the van roughly level to cool properly, and nobody enjoys rolling out of bed.
How it works
You drive the wheel up onto the ramp until a spirit level (built into the van or a separate one you place on a shelf) shows level, then apply the handbrake and chock the opposite wheel.
Signs of trouble
- ⚠Ramps cracking or crumbling with age — replace before they fail under load
- ⚠Van still visibly unlevel after using them — you may need a second ramp on the other axle too
- ⚠Wheel slipping off the ramp — always chock the opposite side before relying on them
Rough UK cost
£15 – £60 for a set; automatic levelling systems (a separate feature) cost considerably more.
