What it means
The tank level indicator is showing empty or very low. Running the pump completely dry for extended periods can shorten its life, so it's worth topping up before it gets there.
What to do
- Fill up at the next water point or campsite tap.
- If you can't fill immediately, avoid running taps for longer than necessary.
- If the gauge reads empty but you know the tank is full, the level sensor likely needs cleaning.
Likely causes
- Genuinely low on water after a few days' use
- A slow leak in the tank or pipework
- A fouled or miscalibrated level sensor
Rough UK cost
No cost if it's just low - refill and go. Sensor cleaning or replacement is £20 - £80.
